Antelope, next seven exits . .

Do you suppose they'll come back if  it was re-built?

Antelope church, is not a church anymore

A bell marks the location of the original Antelope school. 1916 burned October 1978.

Not a good way to start your day

What was that?

Mega oil refining equipment load passing through Plentywood to Canada. February 2, 2009

Controversial mega loads have been passing through Montana for years, hauling heavy oil refining equipment to the equally controversial oil sands pit in Alberta, Canada -- the most toxic pit on the planet. The oil isn't conventionally drilled, but mined, scraped off the surface. Once refined the fuel releases 3x's the CO2 emissions of regular refined oil, polluting rivers and leaving the ground exposed never to be productive again. DK photo's, February 2, 2009. Click on photo's for larger view.

Over 170 feet long, rolling along at 20 MPH on 72 tires. It needs the help of a push truck to get up steep grades.

This particular load weighed in at 900,000 lbs.

Following a Get Fit Sheridan County Event June 2, 2007

You might notice a few changes over the past 8 years, especially the kids. Can you I.D. everyone?

New Centry Ag Elevators Westby! Already 8 years old!

These photo's were taken in 2007-08 of the much anticipated New Century Ag elevators in Westby, a great addition to the Sheridan County and NE Montana area.

Montana's First Motorhome

I don't know who built it, or when, but he, or she was way ahead of their time. Maybe someone can fill in some blanks for us? Click in the comments. DK photo's 2009.

A Simple Place in Time - by Barbara Selyem

"An arrow on a crossroad fence points the way to Comertown, MT, and the railroad siding marks the place. The houses are gone now some moved, some burned, some slumped silently in thigh-high grass next to farm implements long hidden and forgotten.

There is an old, weathered railcar with broken windows and a few frayed curtains. A concrete stairway with massive posts sits unattached next to lilac bushes.

There are no businesses, no schools, and no churches; only a few shells of abandoned buildings remain. The grain elevator once a stately symbol of a prosperous community rests in ashes on its foundation. "  DK photo's

 Rock on!

Raymond Controlled Elevator Fire 2006

This was kind of a sad day for Sheridan County. People relied on these elevators to find their way around and getting from town to town. Especially on Saturday night. Now they use GPS.

Interesting article about the Comertown elevator fireand history.

A parade without a band is a funeral

I may be old school, but if this is the Plentywood H.S. band, I don't remember the school colors being Navy and Beige?  Maybe it's summer school colors? Or Penn State?
